Do You Hear the Children Sing? is a Suffolk County nonprofit providing private music education to children across Long Island. We believe access to quality music education can inspire confidence, unlock creativity, and create life-changing opportunities.
Our Mission
Our mission is to sponsor the private music education of children in our community who do not have that privilege. We want every child to experience the benefits of having a dedicated, nurturing and inspiring mentor to cultivate their musical abilities.
The Story
Rebecca Cypher is the owner of Musical Journeys, a music studio in Holtsville, NY. She has had several teachers and mentors throughout her life who have been instrumental in shaping her character and career. Without their encouragement, dedication and belief, she would not be doing what she loves today. She is passionate about giving others the opportunities she has been given.
Ms. Cypher founded DYHTCS in the summer of 2018 with a small group of her students. The object was using music as a tool to do good and literally using our voices to benefit others.
We are continuing this mission by using the funds we raise to sponsor the private music education of local children in our community at no cost to them or their families.
